Recognizing the power of solitude and time to work the Davyd Whaley Foundation offers a one-week residency in Joshua Tree for educators to specifically focus on making art.
Description:
1 week at The Desert House location near Joshua Tree, CA. The Desert House has a 400 square foot studio is equipped with worktables, tools, and wall space. The 600 square foot living space includes a private room, bathroom, as well as a full kitchen and living room. Date and time will be determined upon award. Criteria:
Applicants applying to either the Emerging Artist Grant or the Teaching Artist Grant are eligible for this award, should they not receive one of the monetary awards. Artists wishing to be considered should provide a brief paragraph outlining how they would utilize the time to support and grow their creative practice.
